2020 Walraven Pinot Noir
Distinctive to the Walraven vineyard site, herbal qualities dominate the aroma with dried thyme, sage and black tea. Flavors are full, ripe and rich with dark-skinned fruits: plum, blackberry, fig and licorice. On the palate, this wine is savory and expansive, with a juicy, soft mouthfeel, smooth tannin and moderate acidity. A firm structure and finish provide the framework for a delicious wine.

"Aromas of cool strawberries with hints of salted caramel. Some iron and oyster cluster. Medium to full body with a soft and round texture and a focus at the end with lovely firmness and length. From organically grown grapes. Drink after 2025." -- James Suckling, Dec. 2023

“Here’s the deep savory side of Pinot Noir. Rich earthiness. Sandalwood and sassafras. Foresty freshness. An opulent yet elegant core of beauty. Anderson Valley slants like a pants pocket inland from the rugged Mendocino Coast, and it’s become California’s most northern appellation for stellar Pinot Noir.” -- Karen MacNeil, June 21, 2024
